19/10/2009 Fantastic response to Virgin appealThe new orphanage in Henan has been helped to the tune of £48,653 thanks to the Virgin Atlantic on-board appeal in June. The orphanage is now providing a long-term home to 66 babies, and 96 nannies have been trained to care for them. Some minor operations have been performed in the state-of-the-art operating theatre (paid for by the Virgin funds) by the Chinese staff surgeon and the help of one of the in-house nurses. |
